[Personality]
Hana is very childlike and innocent. She easily gets excited over little things such as noodles, which she is absolutely obsessed with. For her, as long as there are noodles, everything is alright! She is also amused by the silliest things like the phrase 'ugo ugo' and its accompanying grabby hand gestures. Hana often uses it whenever she wants something after hearing Chikahito use the phrase in a completely different context. In fact 'ugo ugo' means 'moving around' (at least that's what the official Chinese version the mun read says) and has nothing at all to do with wanting something. Hana adopted the phrase and changed its meaning just because she likes the sound of it. Therefore, Hana often tends to act like a young child in her gestures, movements and reactions.
Hana is, in general, very honest. She never lies and always speaks straight from the heart. She is unafraid of speaking her mind or acting upon her feelings most of the time, such as how she casts a spell on Chikahito to make him come back to Kyoto and to her after meeting him the first time, much to the displeasure of Tachibana. She did so just because her instincts told her he is the one she's waiting for and that they are 'the same', even though he has no special powers and knows nothing about the Urashichiken nor have links to it. It's however hinted later that Chikahito or at least his past self might be the person Hana is waiting for though he doesn't seem to remember his past life.
However, there are times when Hana does hide her feelings especially those concerning her (and possibly Chikahito's) past. She has no trouble mentioning hints of this past, such as how she is 'waiting for someone' and that she has 'a promise' she must fulfill, but she doesn't elaborate on them and Chikahito is too considerate a person to ask her for more details. She perhaps keeps her past a secret because of how much she cares about the people close to her and is afraid of distressing Chikahito since he doesn't remember the past. It seems like she'd rather keep their past relationship hidden for now rather than burden him with it as it's hinted that their past wasn't a particularly happy one.
She also shows a lot of concern for her two 'trees' (protectors/guardians) Sakura and Tachibana, mostly Tachibana who is the more emotional of the two and tormented by the kidnapping of his twin sister. Hana doesn't hesitate to comfort Tachibana with a hug or two whenever he needs them. She is also protective of and doesn't care about getting hurt for the people important to her.
Hana is shown to be very tolerant and perhaps unwilling to hurt other people's feelings. She also almost never loses her temper. We can see this in her relationship with Masamune. She doesn't really seem to be interested in him romantically, though he is completely infatuated with her. She does think of him as a friend and doesn't downright reject him. Instead, she lets him do whatever makes him happy like rubbing his chin, letting him hug her and even allowing him to kiss her on the lips. Though she does threaten to be angry with him if he hurts Chikahito for Chikahito is the most important to her.
Hana is very brave as well and never once shows fear or weakness towards the Oni or the enemies they have to fight, even when she is at a disadvantage, such as when she has to fight Akechi Mitsuhide without Sakura or Tachibana at her side. Hana is the type to bravely soldier on for the sake of the people she loves and for her beliefs. The main reason she stays at Urashichiken and helps them in their quest to find the strongest oni is for herself as she believes that it's only there that she can wait for 'someone' so she can fulfill her 'promise'.
[Abilities]
Hana has the ability to perfectly learn and mimic any magical moves used by her enemies (mostly the Oni) in battle. There doesn't seem to be any limit on the type of magic she can learn and she's able to use both offensive and defensive magic.
However, it has been mentioned that without weapons made by either Sakura or Tachibana, she is unable to wield her powers effectively or to their full extent .

Hana's gender is unknown but she is usually referred to as 'she' since 'Hana' is commonly used as a girl's name. Hana is not her real name though and was given to her by Sakura and Tachibana. Most of her past is also still a mystery and yet to be revealed.

If it's just verbal, I'd just ignore them. If they physically attacked me, I'd have to protect myself because they'd worry about me if I got hurt.
5. Do you stand up against authority, go against all odds, and if you could, pierce the heavens with your fighting spirit? If not, would you if you could?
I'd do anything to keep my promise and to see that 'person' again. So if I had to do all that in order to achieve my wish, I would.
6. You're asked to take someone out for a date. Do you agree? If so, describe what you would do. If not, tell why.
Okay! We'll go eat noodles!! We'll have to try all the noodle shops along the way! [laughs happily]

If you choose the former, the bad guy will get away and it will be hard to catch him. If you choose the latter, the cliff will crumble and the friend will fall to the spiky rocks below. Noodles. Hana needed noodles. She'd been exploring this new place for several hours now after having found someone to take her in. The people here were nice but she had to find a way back. Tachibana, Sakura and Chikahito must be so worried, and Tachibana was sure to get angry at Chikahito since he was the last person she was with before she found herself here... She wanted so much to go back to them and she had to go back to them. It was only back home that she would be able to fulfill her 'promise' and they needed her to help fight in their battle.
Her stomach grumbled and she looked almost ready to cry. She'd been out all morning and now she was starving! Nothing would take this hunger away but noodles. She was sure of it! She craved them and was certain that she was suffering from some kind of noodle withdrawal. Where were the noodle shops? Surely there was one in this village?
Hana wandered around weakly. Noodles... Then she smelt- That wonderful scent. Ramen! Someone was cooking ramen! Hana immediately perked up and followed her nose. Ra~men~ Ra~men~ Then soon some unfortunate person would soon find her plastered to their window looking up pleadingly with puppy-dog eyes at their noodles, as she held her hands in front of herself and wriggled her fingers expectantly while going, "Ugo ugo~"
